Hey New York, I know that recent and very unfortunate tragedies have brought you deserved sympathy from around the world, but here's a piece of news that might put some Coke in your gastank. Sympathy doesn't mean you have permission to act like a pack of fucking spoiled savages. If there are some azzwipehs who "boo" the Canadian anthem during the first US Playoff game between the Leafs and NY, I single those dogs out for what they are and hope it isn't repeated. However, when the booing gets progressively louder from NY game to NY game, I start to get pissed off. And when the nice fellow who sings the anthems tells reporters that he couldn't hear himself because the jeering was so loud during the Canadian anthem -- one game after Canada cheered America's miserable anthem -- I start to wonder what goes on in your soft heads. And finally, when Toronto tourists go to NY and are attacked in parking lots and have their Canadian flags stolen, ripped up and burned in front of them -- on the same day the Canadians soldiers who were bombed by Americans are buried -- I'm going to start wishing there was a way to take back September 11 donations. Okay, that's probably a little harsh of me. Apologies. But when America burns Canadian flags over a god damn game we invented in the first place ... I'm supposed to get all gung-ho about the "war on terrorisim" exactly how ... ? I won't even bother with you, Detroit, and your "lowest murder rate ever" of 1000 people in a year. I know, most Americans are decent. You'd think New York would try to prove it to us by, well, not burning our damn flag and getting progressively anti-Canadian. Then again, this is the same city that chanted "WHAT?" at a post-September 11 WWF Smackdown after every line of the Star Spangled Banner while the poor corpses of 200 firemen and policemen smoldered within wafting distance. So what the hell can I expect? Oh yeah, SSB isn't necessarily "miserable" as I mentioned before. It's a nice anthem. I'm just of the opinion that New York can kiss my Royal Canadian ass. It's my very last, thin, ant-gnawed fibre of Decency that's keeping me from purchasing one of those infamous "I [airplane] NY" shirts right now. Oh, awesome! The director of Photography for 2030 CE read my review and signed the GB. ^_^ That's so cool. It's due, so here's an updated review. David and I still make sure to catch the show every Wednesday. We missed a couple of eps by accident, but fortunately, there's very handy recaps at the start of every episode, so we haven't been too out of step. The acting is good. Some people have complained about it, but we don't have a problem with any of it. Sevier's performance is dramatic, but he doesn't take it to the moon when he's not supposed to. I think he'll be on the big screen eventually. He's damn good looking, too. I know the whole Megaman fan community'll be cheering his every step, as he goes down in history as the only male Megaman voice ever. The plot is also good -- interesting enough to keep us coming back. It dragged in a couple of spots ... how many "break and enter the lab" scenes do we really need? And at one or two points, the focus on Hart's life kind of broke and we started to see what I referred to earlier as more of a "kiddy 1984," which I was hoping would be avoided. But the boat uprighted itself and things are moving along nicely again. I think Nexes' motives need to be a little more clear. It would be kind of cool to see a distopia goverment that wasn't, well, entirely evil. But while Nexes is a Big Brother of sorts, it avoids stepping on too many cliches by softening its image. It's very interesting (and cool) to see that almost all Nexes employees (especially those involved with public interaction) are female. That one little thing provides a lot of atmosphere. Overall, it's a good show that's definately worth watching regularily. Some small adjustments would help a lot, and I can't wait to see what season 2 brings. :) There, that cheered me up!
